One : Settling In

Dear Jonah

Life here in Oasis Springs is hard.  The temperature is through the roof, and under the roof for that matter -don't know why but the place heats up like a sweat box and there's no air conditioning.
The trainees are all too busy to get to know each other and since I need to be the best I have to work harder and longer than any of them.

The accommodation is awful.  The crappy plumbing breaks down and I had to get a repairman in to the stove.  Damn thing lit up like a supernova and started smoking.  It was awful.

I'm practising chess so I can kick your butt when we finally get to play again.  Show you who's the brains in the family.

My cooking totally sucks, I've discovered a new level of appreciation for Mum, our nannies and maids.  The other night I tried to fry this chicken, what a fiasco.

I'm enjoying the physical training.  As well as what we have to put in during class time, I go jogging around the neighbourhood or do my own workouts.  You would be so proud of me.

The views around here are amazing.  Who knew the desert could be so beautiful?  There's this old theme park or museum or something not far from where I am, so I practise chess out back and there's this dinosaur.  Honestly it's the coolest and most ridiculous thing I've ever seen.  I'll have to send you a photo. One of these days I'll go over there are see what his deal is; but right now free time is pretty much a distant dream from another reality, or an alternate universe.  Speaking of which I have a lecture in an hour, so I better go shower and get ready, hope the waters hot this time.

Love You.
Ana.
